Terms of Service

1. Definitions

• "Taimi" – The Taimi app and associated website (taimifamily.com), maintained by Taimi.
• "Service" – The features provided by the Taimi app, including chore management, learning content, saving features, and family community features.
• "User" – An individual who uses the Service, either as a guardian or as a child under the supervision of a guardian.
• "Family Account" – An account created by a guardian through which family members use the Service.

2. Service Description

Taimi is an app designed for families that combines chores, learning, and saving. The app helps families manage daily tasks, motivates children to learn through play, and teaches financial responsibility through savings goals.

The Service is currently in beta. We continuously strive to improve the Service, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation during the beta phase.

3. User Account and Registration

• Use of the Service requires the creation of a Family Account. The Family Account is created by an adult guardian who is responsible for managing the account and ensuring that all activities through the account comply with the law.
• The guardian may add minor family members to the Family Account. The guardian is responsible for ensuring that the activities of minor users within the Service take place under the guardian's supervision and in accordance with these terms.
• The information provided must be accurate, complete, and up to date. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or close any account if we suspect a breach of these terms or misuse.

4. User Obligations

As a user, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal purposes or in violation of these terms
• Attempt to disrupt the technical operation of the Service, including security attacks, distribution of malware, or unauthorized scraping of data
• Violate the rights or privacy of other users
• Send disruptive, offensive, or illegal content
• Share your login credentials with third parties
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights related to the Service, including but not limited to software code, graphical appearance, logos, texts, images, and trademarks, are the property of Taimi or its licensors. The user may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or rent any part of the Service without prior written permission.

The right to use the Service is granted as a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these terms.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without any express or implied warranties. We do not guarantee that the Service is uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Service, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

We are not responsible for the content or services of third parties that may be linked from the Service.

7. Data Protection

8. Payments and Pricing

During the beta phase, the Service is free of charge. Any future paid features, pricing, and payment terms will be communicated separately well in advance of their introduction. The use of paid features requires separate acceptance.

9. Changes to and Availability of the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any part thereof at any time by providing reasonable notice. We aim to notify users in advance of significant changes via email or through the Service.

We do our best to ensure high availability of the Service, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access due to, for example, maintenance breaks, technical problems, or external events.

10. Termination of Agreement

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account or contacting us. Upon account deletion, all your personal data will be deleted as described in the privacy policy, unless legislation requires the retention of data.

We reserve the right to terminate this agreement and close your account if you materially breach these terms and fail to remedy the breach within a reasonable time after receiving notice.

11. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms of service are governed by Finnish law, excluding its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these terms, or the breach, termination, or validity thereof, shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiations between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiations within thirty (30) days of either party providing written notice, the dispute shall be settled by the Helsinki District Court as the court of first instance. Notwithstanding the foregoing, a User acting as a consumer shall always have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their place of domicile, as provided by applicable consumer protection legislation.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (using the email address associated with your account) and/or by posting a notice on the Service at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised terms constitutes your acceptance of those terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the Service and may terminate your account as described in Section 10.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Taimi regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter hereof.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions of these terms shall remain in full force and effect.
