Finnish teenagers' money skills track family background

Finnish 15-year-olds scored near the top of PISA 2018's financial literacy assessment. In the same data, family background shaped their scores more than in all but one other country. Large experiments show financial education can change behaviour too, but the effect fades when it is cut off from real decisions.
